  WARNING: This firm wasted my time (prospective customer) and instead of being civil sent a rude, insulting letter with outrageous fee demands. Even in their passive-aggressive response, they fail to take the high road as they did actually offer me their service at a cost greater than any other advisory firm. I suggest staying away. ------- SHOCKING: Monument presents as a well run firm with flashy marketing materials and fancy offices. I told them my restrictions on how much annual management fee I would pay from the start of our discussions (an initial 1.5 hr session). When they asked me to schedule a second 3 hour meeting, I reiterated my requirements so as not to waste anyone's time. I let them know I would understand if they couldn't work within my parameters but to please let me know before any further time was invested. After spending 3 more hours with them (I took time out of my busy schedule and reiterated in the meeting the fee restriction) they sent me a letter demanding 50% more than what I had told them I would pay AND asking for $1000 "financial planning fee" that had never been mentioned (in fact, they represented their fee as "all inclusive"). I'd say I dodged a bullet with these folks. Their response seems to have included some malice as they not only increased the fee from what they had initially proposed but also added $1000. This might be a misunderstand or an isolated incident but I'd suggest people take keep this possibility in mind when engaging with Monument.

  This firm has a great selection of people doing their best to come up with the best solutions for their clients. (They also seem to treat them like royalty, and that they're part of the family.) Also, as an intern currently working here, they offer flexible working hours and a good salary.
